Cafe Jufei, Kulai Johor Bahru

This Cafe Jufei that located at Kulai Bring us back to 1969, I'm not even born. The country not even Merdeka yet, Just kidding guys. This cafe opened for few years ago, six years ago if not mistaken. We had some chat with the owner and get to know more about the cafe.

Taman kulai was an old district with rich of history for johorian, when you drive around here we can see a lot of old folks lepak-ing at the kopitiam or old school mini mart. Cafe Jufei is located on the second  floor of the old shop lot building, They are operating On tuesday to sunday from 10am till 6pm and close/offday on monday.

Stepping into the cafe is like travelling back in time to a world without modern hassles, Cafe Jufei has a homely and very retro settings like travelling in a time tunnel. Most of the collections, figurines, comic books, vintage equipment, cassette tapes, etc, are several decades old. Some of the items brought back my childhood memories.

There was only two person is operating the cafe, I believe both of them is the owner of this cafe. We asked one of the owner here, are all this rare antique collection items belong to you?

He answered by telling us that all the item here is given by the shop owner, customers and from himself as well. It makes this place combine all the memorable collection a new live, when the cafe owner looking to rent of this shop earlier, he found all the collection was stored in boxes by the shop owner. At the same time the cafe owner requested at the shop owner whether can he willingly hand over the priceless and meaningful collection to cafe owner to display at the cafe. Surprisingly the shop owner agree to gift out half of the collection to the cafe owner.

Gift from the customers, priceless and meaningful collection was give to the cafe owner when they doing spring cleaning maybe. Before all this this memorable collection went to dumpster, customer offered to cafe owner. he will collect all of it and take a good care of the items by displaying it in the cafe, So if you have any memorable collection please donate it to cafe Jufei. You can come and visit your collection that you nearly thrown to dumpster that is display nicely and well took care in the cafe while having an aromatic cup of coffee and enjoy others collections.

We ordered a cup of Matcha Latte, a cup of Caramel Latte and Ice Cream Waffle. The menu here is just simple and straightforward, on our visit May 2025 there is 13 drinks and 6 finger foods or dessert on the menu to be choose. There is no main course are served here, if better you come here after having meals and have a cup of hot coffee and chill.
For me as 80's, this is a great place to hangout to see what we missing and what we used to at the past. the place makes a lot of surprise, when you say " wow see this see this, see that see that " , " I have used that before, I have played when i'm young'. They even have TIKAM to play, If you don't know what is TIKAM please watch end of my video, still Rm0.10 for i piece. Just to ask Johorian, is it Johor TIKAM playing style is different from Ipoh?

I mean what I get to play the TIKAM at Cafe Jufei is when you open the paper, there will have a number then need to check on the number list. If strike the number then you pick another paper to see what price you get, Maybe money or Toys. For me, what I play at my kampung at the small junk food mart is pull my lucky paper and it will be either "Terima Kasih" or "Rm?.??".
