Hong San Si Temple, Kuching Sarawak

Just look at the architecture the details on the roof, the dragons, and the vibrant colours. Hong San Si has been around for more than a century, and it still stands as one of the main cultural landmarks in Kuching. It’s such a peaceful spot despite being in the middle of town.

Inside, the atmosphere changes instantly. You’ll see worshippers offering incense, lighting candles, and praying for blessings. The carvings and murals here are absolutely stunning every corner has its own story and meaning.

One thing I love about Hong San Si is how well-maintained it is. Even the smallest details are beautifully crafted. If you’re into photography, this place is a goldmine the lighting, colours, and traditional Chinese elements make every frame stand out.

This temple plays an important role in the local Hokkien community, especially during major festivals like Chinese New Year and the Mazu Festival. It’s not just a tourist spot it’s an active place of worship filled with history and cultural pride.

Larut Matang Food Court , Taiping

  When you travel to Taiping, it is not necessary for you to dine in a air conditioning restaurant for seafood dinner, the better choice is to try the local Malaysian foods in a famous hawker center , the one place that's always crowded is the Larut Matang Hawker Centre .  There are Malay, Chinese and Indian food for you. Please come with empty stomach and enjoy eating , for those who know Taiping, They call it “Cai Chi” (Hokkien). Many of us call it “Downstair of Larut Matang” also, it’s just opposite to Taiping Jaya Supermarket . Larut Matang Food Court located at Jalan Panggung Wayang is probably the best place to hunt for hawkers' food during the day time .
