Today I’m at one of Kuching’s most charming heritage stays at The Marian Boutique Lodging House. If you love vintage vibes, wooden architecture, and peaceful retreats right in the city. you’re going to love this place.


From the moment you step in, everything feels warm, nostalgic, and beautifully preserved. The building itself is over a century old, restored into a boutique hotel. so you get that classic Sarawak character with a modern touch.


I really love how they kept the original charm the timber floors, antique-style windows, and the quiet hallways. It feels like stepping into a storybook, but with all the comfort you need.

So here’s my room simple, cozy, and full of character. You’ve got soft lighting, clean minimalist design, and a cool blend of old and new. Perfect for anyone looking for a peaceful stay in the middle of Kuching.

The Marian has this really refreshing ambience. Even though it’s located near the city centre, it feels quiet and slow-paced. Great for relaxing, reading, or just taking a break from the busy streets.

And yes — there’s also a pool!
A small but beautiful open-air area where you can chill, cool down, and enjoy the heritage surroundings.

Another thing I love is the location. You’re just minutes away from Carpenter Street, Kuching Waterfront, cafes, temples, and local food spots. Everything is walkable and super convenient for travellers.


So if you’re visiting Kuching and want something unique not just another modern hotel, The Marian Boutique is definitely worth checking out. Affordable, charming, peaceful, and full of history.

Larut Matang Food Court , Taiping

  When you travel to Taiping, it is not necessary for you to dine in a air conditioning restaurant for seafood dinner, the better choice is to try the local Malaysian foods in a famous hawker center , the one place that's always crowded is the Larut Matang Hawker Centre .  There are Malay, Chinese and Indian food for you. Please come with empty stomach and enjoy eating , for those who know Taiping, They call it “Cai Chi” (Hokkien).
