Petrosains, The Discovery Centre at KLCC
Hey guys! Welcome back to the my Blog. Today I’m at one of KL’s most iconic family-friendly spots. Petrosains, The Discovery Centre at KLCC!
This place is all about science, technology, space, dinosaurs, oil & gas, and a lot of hands-on fun. If you’re planning a trip to KL or looking for an indoor activity, this is definitely one of the best places to spend a few hours.
Let’s go explore!
Petrosains starts with this super cool Dark Ride a slow-moving ride that takes you through lights, sounds, and a mini ‘space tunnel’ vibe. Such a nice way to begin the experience. It feels calming, futuristic, and really sets the mood for what’s coming next.
Petrosains really encourages you to touch everything which I love.
There are mini labs where you can test reactions, do puzzles, and challenge yourself with brain games. If you’re coming with family or friends, this part is super fun.
This is one of my favourite areas. Space capsules, astronaut suits, physics experiments, and interactive displays about how space exploration works.
You can even try hands-on experiments with light, sound, and magnetism. Very cool for anyone who loves science.
Since Petrosains is related to energy and technology, there’s a big section showing how oil & gas works. There are simulators, 3D models, mini rigs, and fun games explaining drilling, extraction, and engineering. Don’t worry, it’s not boring at all. Everything here is touch-and-play.
And here’s the highlight for a lot of people, the F1 section!
There’s a real F1 car model, racing simulators, videos about engineering and speed, and lots of behind-the-scenes info about technology used in racing.
Last stop, Geotime Diorama. This section brings you back millions of years with dinosaurs, fossils, moving animatronics, and landscapes showing how Earth changed over time. Kids love this area, but honestly adults too. The T-Rex is loud but super fun.
And that wraps up my visit to Petrosains at KLCC!
If you love science, hands-on activities, or just want a fun indoor spot to spend your afternoon, this place is definitely worth visiting.
